Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi is a dedicated Seventh-day Adventist minister and visionary leader currently serving as President of the Nyamira West Field, a position to which he was re-elected during the 2025 constituency session. In this role, he provides strategic direction, spiritual oversight, and administrative leadership, guiding the mission and growth of the field.
He responded to the call to ministry in 1992 and pursued his theological training at Tanzania Adventist College, where he earned a diploma in theology. He later advanced his studies at Bugema University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology in 1999. Committed to continuous learning and excellence in ministry, he furthered his education at Andrews University between 2007 and 2012, earning both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry.
Pr. Dr. Nyakundi began his pastoral ministry in 1994, serving in various districts where he nurtured congregational growth, strengthened church structures, and supported the establishment of new Sabbath Schools. His faithful service led to his ordination into the gospel ministry in 2004.
In 2013, he was elected Executive Secretary of the Nyamira Conference, where he played a key role in strengthening administrative systems and supporting the mission of the church.
